Gareth Bale has told Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo that he wants to join Chelsea, according to Don Balon.

What's the word?

It seems that ever since Bale made the move to Spain in 2013, rumours have been rumbling that he wants to return to the Premier League.

Manchester United have constantly been named as a potential suitor, but a number of fans have been against the idea of signing the Welshman.

Now, Spanish publication Don Balon reports that Bale has set his sights on Chelsea, and has even told Ronaldo that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge.

The report adds that Eden Hazard could be included in a deal as Madrid have been keeping tabs on the playmaker for some time.

Could this really happen?

Never say never in football, but this particular transfer story should be taken with a pinch of salt.

As mentioned, Bale is regularly linked with a return to England, but he has given no indications - publicly at least - that he wants to call an end to his time at the Bernabeu.

From an outsider's perspective, there is no reason to walk away from the Spanish giants given that he has won 10 trophies, including three Champions League crowns, in just four-and-a-half-years.

Even though Bale is a huge talent, Chelsea desperately need to keep hold of Hazard.

The Belgian keeps the team ticking and is crucial when it comes to the club's progression.

Given that the Blues are not having the best season compared to the last campaign's title triumphs, it could potentially derail the team if Hazard leaves in the summer.
