Chelsea have incurred the wrath of their own supporters on Twitter after a releasing a statement in response to the travel issues brought about by the Europa League final venue.
The relatively tame statement offered its sympathies to Chelsea supporters who have struggled to find viable transportation to the European showpiece while failing to offer clear solutions and also informing supporters that no live screening will be shown at Stamford Bridge, something that Tottenham are doing for June’s Champions League final.
The May 29th Europa League final has been plagued by trouble and controversy after many supporters were unable to travel to Baku for a feasible cost and Henrikh Mkhitaryan was forced to withdraw due to political turmoil between his native country of Armenia and the Azeri hosts.
Arsenal released a statement of their own on May 21 announcing Mkhitaryan’s absence and proclaiming their disappointment at the situation.
Despite the lengthy declaration on Chelsa’s official website, many Blues supporters feel that the club has acted weakly and is not doing enough to find solutions.
Check out the best of the reaction below!
One Nil to the Arsenal when it comes to statements.

-Basic Statement because they don’t want to upset UEFA.
-Hardly any defence of Supporters
-No Effort of setting up a Watch Event. Isn’t ‘Under The Bridge & Frankies Bar’ available to arrange something.
-Defended the Travel Company
-3 of the 4 clubs actually stood up to UEFA… https://t.co/Kk9Sytw4aD

“We don’t want to upset UEFA any more than we have done already with the whole transfers of kids unpleasantness so we’ve waited until late Friday to slip something out a bit wishy washy”

So, the club realising the enormity of cost for everyday fans cannot even organise a beamback somewhere to allow 1000’s of fans the opportunity to share the event together! Various pubs around London it is then, at least there’s a possibility of a parade…..oh I see, maybe not!!

*Don’t mention @HenrikhMkh we don’t want to upset UEFA* Absolute cop out. ?

Zero effort by the club

Took you a few hours after the Trust made a statement before you decide to string a few sentences together. Don’t put this on UEFA, you choose to mug off your own supporters.
— Walts (@WalterOtton) May 24, 2019
This has been an absolute disgrace. Communication with the fans remains appalling, the final is less than a week away and you release this statement now?

Not offering a Fans event at the bridge is so disappointing, our own club don’t even have the decency to refrain from taking bookings in May .You knew full well we have been favourites for Europa league all season, can’t even watch the game at our own club .Boycott modern football
