At the age of 31, Cesc Fabregas is entering the latter stages of his career, which has put his Chelsea future in doubt.

The midfielder has been a pivotal member of the team over the years as he helped the Blues win two Premier League titles following his move from Barcelona in 2014.

In the last 12 months or so, Fabregas, who has scored 21 goals for the West London outfit, has dropped down the pecking order and he is struggling for game time under new manager Maurizio Sarri this season.

In total, the £156,000-a-week midfielder has only made six appearances in all competitions, and just one of those has been in the Premier League.

On Wednesday night, Fabregas played the full 90 minutes of the Blues' EFL Cup match against Derby County at Stamford Bridge.

Five goals were scored in total - two of them being own goals - and it was the Chelsea midfielder who netted the winner.

In the 41st minute, Fabregas struck to give the Blues a 3-2 lead and they held onto it until the final whistle blew.

Despite his contribution, plenty of Chelsea fans are unconvinced by the Spaniard.
