The knives are already out from some quarters following Chelsea's defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Blues were beaten 4-0 in Frank Lampard's first game as manager, and some have already taken aim at the new boss as well as some of the club's youngsters.

Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount both made their starting XI debuts with the club, whilst Andreas Christensen also featured in defence. All three have spent time in the club's academy ranks previously, and are aged 23 or under.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who won the Premier League title three times in two separate spells at Stamford Bridge, made his maiden appearance in the Sky Sports studio to cover the game, and was quick to take aim at Lampard and his faith in youngsters after the match.

The Portuguese said, as quoted by Independent.ie: "It’s the first match at home, the first match of the season, people are excited, the stadium is on fire waiting for something positive.

"A little bit of experience [from Chelsea] would fit well with the team. You look to the performance of Mason Mount, the performance of Tammy Abraham, you look to the performance even of [Andreas] Christensen and for matches of this dimension you need a little bit more."

It is fair to say that the Stamford Bridge outfit's supporters were far from happy with Mourinho's criticisms, with many taking to Twitter to share their displeasure. You can see some of the best reactions below...
