The Chelsea fans who were at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night will have to wait a long time to see a crazier second half of football.

The Blues were 3-1 down against Ajax after the first 45 minutes, and when Donny van de Beek scored with 35 minutes left on the clock, many will have thought that the game was over. But Frank Lampard's side put an almighty comeback together, scoring three goals to level it up at 4-4. They even scored a fifth, but Cesar Azpilicueta's strike was ruled out by VAR.

However, the heroic turn of fortunes should not gloss over what was a poor first period from the south-west London side. De Godenzonen looked the hungrier of the two teams, and deserved their half-time lead. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will likely have thought he could have done better for two of the goals, and the nine-time Spain international's frustration was visibly clear.

The club's supporters were far from happy with the 25-year-old's performance. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
