Mario Balotelli scored a fine goal on his Italy comeback as they beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in a friendly on Monday night, and Chelsea fans have urged their club to sign the 6ft 2in tall centre-forward this summer.

The striker is set to be available for nothing when his Nice contract expires next month, and his latest strike from outside of the area for the Azzurri as well as his form for the Ligue 1 outfit this term should mean that he isn't short of offers.

The 27-year-old plundered a remarkable 26 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the French club during the 2017/18 campaign, and while he may be a controversial player at times there is no doubt as to his goalscoring abilities and overall influence on the pitch.

Chelsea supporters, a slight majority of which would like to see Alvaro Morata sold this summer following a difficult debut campaign, were quick to have their say on his latest performance via social media, and while one said "he would be excellent with Hazard", another described him as "better than that donkey Morata".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
