Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic impressed during Serbia's 1-0 win against Costa Rica in their opening 2018 World Cup group game on Sunday, and Chelsea fans have demanded their club sign the highly-rated 23-year-old, valued at £81m by Transfermarkt.

The Serie A star was making just his fifth appearance for his country in Russia at the weekend, and while he didn't get on the score-sheet he showed the threat he can have in the final third with plenty of key passes and efforts at goal.

The tall midfielder, who can play centrally or in a central attacking role like he did for Serbia, scored 14 goals and provided a further nine assists in 48 appearances in all competitions for Lazio last term, and would provide competition for the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley and Cesc Fabregas if he completed a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea supporters, who have also told their club to make a shock swoop to sign two South American World Cup players who would replace Victor Moses and Willian, were quick to have their say on his latest display via social media, and while one said "please sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic", another said "Savic is everything Loftus-Cheek will never be".
