Chelsea transfer target Wilfried Bony has told the Czech media that he would love to join the London-based club, in a bid to force a January move to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail.

The Vitesse Arnhem striker would love to play in the Premier League, and has attracted the attention of Everton, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Wigan in addition to the European champions.

Bony is leading the scoring charts this season in the Eredivisie with 13 goals, and has netted 27 times in 47 appearances since signing from Sparta Prague in January 2011.

It is believed that Chelsea’s sporting director Michael Emenalo travelled to Holland to watch the striker in action when Vitesse took on FC Twente last weekend.

The Ivorian international told Czech newspaper Pravo: “It's not the number one topic for me at the moment, but if they write about me going there [to Chelsea], then it’s great isn't it?

“But seriously, if they want me, it would be a great honour. I would be glad to go to such a club.

“I love English football and wouldn't be afraid to play there. Chelsea are a top club.”

The striker could move in January as Roberto Di Matteo searches for some much needed depth up-front. Currently, the Blues only have Daniel Sturridge and Fernando Torres as first-team strikers.

“If Chelsea are interested in the winter and the clubs reach an agreement, then why not?" The 23-year-old said.

“I know that Chelsea and Arnhem are close and some of the Chelsea lads are here on loan, including Tomas [Kalas]. I have discussed it with him many times already.”

Bony is valued at £8 million by his club, and could therefore prove to be a sounder financial investment than the Blues' main transfer target Ramodel Falcao, who comes with a £48 million price-tag.
