Chelsea have confirmed that club record signing Fernando Torres has joined AC Milan on a two-year-loan deal, reports the Express.
“Fernando Torres has today finalised the loan that will see the striker spend the next two years at AC Milan,” a club statement confirmed.
“The 30-year-old will now play for the Serie A side following three-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, in which time he helped Chelsea lift the Champions League, the Europa League and the FA Cup. “Chelsea Football Club thanks Fernando for his service during the past four seasons and wishes him the very best for his loan in Italy.”
Torres struggled to recapture the form he showed during his Liverpool career whilst at Stamford Bridge, with his most productive season coming in 2012/13, when he netted 22 times in all competitions.
Chelsea have since confirmed the signing of Loic Remy as a replacement, with the Frenchman signing in an £8.5million deal from Queens Park Rangers.
