Chelsea flop striker eyed by Spanish giants

Demba BaValencia are plotting a £7m move for Chelsea outcast Demba Ba, according to reports from The Metro.

The Senegalese international only joined the Blues earlier this year, but it already looks as if his career in West London is over.

Ba featured regularly under former boss Rafael Benitez, but new coach Jose Mourinho has frozen the former Newcastle man out of his first-team plans.

Fernando Torres and summer arrival Samuel Eto’o have already moved ahead of the 28-year-old in the Stamford Bridge pecking order, and it is expected that the club will delve into the transfer market in the near future to snap up a top class centre-forward.

Valencia are keen to take advantage of the situation and offer Ba an escape route.

Los Che have a solid relationship with Chelsea – having taken Oriol Romeu on loan recently – and are hopeful that this will help them to negotiate a deal for the front-man.

Arsenal have also been linked with the powerful forward, but is believed that Mourinho is far from keen to sell to a direct title rival.

Despite their financial woes, Valencia are ready to offer £7m for Ba.
