Chelsea give struggling star 2 weeks to prove himself, replacements lined up

Chelsea have given Diego Costa two weeks to justify his role at the club and are already considering 2016 moves for Antoine Griezmann or Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports from The Independent.

The Blues’ Spanish forward has endured a woeful start to the season in a struggling team and has netted just three league goals – one of which came against rock-bottom Aston Villa.

As well as his lack of output, Costa’s general demeanour on the pitch has drawn criticism, with his cynical acts having continued throughout his slump.

And now reports claim that the London club have grown so frustrated with the man that fired them to the title last term that the next two weeks will be used to decide his future, with Atletico Madrid’s Griezmann and Higiuain of Napoli being assessed.

The latter recently broke the 200 career goal mark and has already worked under Jose Mourinho, while the latter is considered to be one of the best attacking players in La Liga.
