Chelsea have not reached £29.2m deal with Leicester for EURO 2016 ace

Chelsea and Leicester have not reached a £29.2m agreement for the signature of N’Golo Kante, according to reports from the Leicester Mercury.

The Frenchman shone for the Foxes last term as Claudio Ranieri’s men secured the most unlikely of Premier League titles.

And despite him having only signed for Leicester from Caen head of the 2015/16 campaign, reports surrounding his future have been plentiful of late.

Indeed, Le Parisien revealed this morning that a €35m (£29.2m) fee had been agreed between the divisional rivals for Kante, but the Leicester Mercury have dismissed this.

It’s understood that there is no arrangement in place between the sides and that the King Power Stadium outfit are actively attempting to tie their prized holding midfielder down to a £100,000-per-week contract, which would put him on a similar pay-packet to talismanic striker, Jamie Vardy.

However, Leicester’s resolve could be tested before the window closes, with reports having already claimed that the energetic 25-year-old is eager to join Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.
