According to Calciomercato, Chelsea face a battle with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal for the summer signing of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
Despite interest from the Gunners and the Blues, PSG are currently leading the race for Kessie’s signature. However, there’s still plenty of time for Chelsea to firm up their interest ahead of the start of the summer market.
As per the aforementioned Calciomercato report, Kessie is a favourite at the San Siro and manager Gennaro Gattuso wants to keep the 22-year-old, but a breach of Financial Fair Play regulations could force the Rossoneri into a sale.

Chelsea would certainly be wise to take advantage of this situation to bring the 25-cap Ivory Coast international to Stamford Bridge.
Maurizio Sarri’s side could do with some additional steel in midfield. Jorginho has struggled to shield the defence alone this season, whilst N’Golo Kante has been deployed in a more advanced role, limiting his ability to break up opposition attacks.
Kessie would be a perfect foil in the middle of the park for Jorginho and Kante to play alongside, as the Milan man would bring physicality and pace to the equation. On top of that, he is also very technically gifted and could work well within Sarri’s preferred, possession-heavy style of play.
Brazilian midfielder Allan played this midfield role alongside Jorginho in the Italian’s Napoli side, and Kessie could reprise it in west London. Not only would this make Chelsea a more cohesive, solid unit, but it would also help to bring the best out of the Blues’ struggling summer signing.
