Chelsea defender David Luiz is still recovering from knee and ankle injuries and faces another month on the sidelines.
According to the Evening Standard, Luiz has been to see a specialist in Barcelona on more than one occasion to try to get to the bottom of the issues but it has not led to a breakthrough yet.
The problems look set to sideline him until at least the start of April and although he had fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte earlier on in the campaign, he would still be a useful option to have.
Getting him back fit might even put him in the shop window but with Conte’s job hanging by a thread, there might be a way back into the Chelsea fold for Luiz if he can get himself fit.
Andreas Christensen has established himself in the first team this season but he has struggled for form and confidence in recent weeks, following up a high profile error against Barcelona with a shaky display against Manchester United last month.
With Gary Cahill also out of favour, Luiz’s extended absence means that Conte will be hoping the Dane rediscovers his form sooner rather than later.
