Chelsea are interested in Stuttgart’s impressive defender Antonio Rudiger, according to the player’s agent.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s top young talents in recent times and is already a regular for his side despite his tender age.
Rudiger, capped six times at senior international level, has been aligned with Chelsea of late amid suggestions that Jose Mourinho is looking to add young options to his ranks as John Terry edges towards the latter stages of a glittering career.
And now the youngster’s agent, Sahr Senesie, has confirmed that the Londoners, as well as Wolfsburg, are tracking his client:
“I know of interest from Wolfsburg and Chelsea,” he is quoted by the London Evening Standard.
Senesie, however, went on to reveal that the promising defender would prefer to stay in the BuLi for now, opening the door for a switch to Wolfsburg:
“Antonio would prefer to stay in Germany.”
Rudiger made 19 outings for Stuttgart last term, and his tally would surely have been greater had a knee injury not interrupted his season.
