Chelsea have joined Liverpool in the race for OGC Nice star Hatem Ben Arfa, according to reports from L’Equipe.
Ben Arfa has been heavily linked with a move away from Allianz Riviera in recent weeks, with the likes of Liverpool thought to be pondering contract offers for the soon-to-be-free-agent.
The France international has played his trade in the Premier League with Newcastle United, but the attacking midfielder struggled at St. James’ Park and left for free to join Nice in January last year.
However, he was unable to officially sign for Nice until the summer, yet since then he has been one of the best players in Ligue 1 this term.
And with his one year contract ending this summer, he has no shortage of suitors, with the Reds and now Chelsea keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.
Ben Arfa has made 30 league appearances this season, scoring 16 goals and supplying four assists.
