Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the race for Argentina international Lucas Biglia, according to the Metro.
The Lazio midfielder had been linked with a move to Old Trafford during the last transfer window, though a switch never materialized.
The 29-year old rejected a new contract in Rome in early September, fuelling speculation around his future.
Previously, he has also been rumoured to be on Real Madrid’s radar.
Now, Blues boss Jose Mourinho is said to have entered the race for his signature, as his Chelsea side struggle in the league.
The defence of their title has got off to a shocking start, with the Stamford Bridge side currently in 16th position after losses to Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Everton and Southampton.
The Argentine ace has been in Italy since he moved from Belgian giants Anderlecht in 2013, and represented his country at both the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 Copa America – reaching the final in both competitions.
