The Blues are on the look out for midfield reinforcements as Frank Lampard looks to be heading for the exit door and Moutinho has been touted as a possible replacement.
The 26-year-old is expected to leave Porto in the summer for a fee in the region of £20million, a fee that should not trouble Chelsea should they decide to make a move.
Tottenham have also been linked as Andre Villas-Boas knows his fellow countryman very well, while big spending French outfit Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running.
Moutinho was set to sign for Tottenham back in August, but the deal was pulled in the final hours of deadline day as the North Londoners failed to agree terms with the 3rd party owners of the Portuguese playmaker.
