Mikel – who incidently signed a new five year contract at the club only last summer – is not thought to be in new manager Jose Mourinho’s plans, and is likely to depart for Turkey this summer.
Galatasary and Trabzonspor are both battling for the holding midfielder’s signature, while mega rich AS Monaco are also thought to be interested.
Mourinho has turned his attention to Germany, and Bayern Munich for a potential replacement , with Brazilian Luiz Gustavo reportedly his number one choice.
Gustavo has two years left on his contract at the Allianz Arena and would cost in excess of £16million.
A move may prove difficult to engineer however, with Gustavo recently claiming he was happy at Bayern and had no desire to leave, while there is no love lost between new manager Pep Guardiola and Mourinho, following their respective spells in charge of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Chelsea are confident they can convince the player to move to the Premier League however, considering Bayern have splashed out big money on a new midfielder in the form of Thiago Alcantara.
