The Blues midfielder has been on the Spaniards’ radar for much of 2014, with rumours having indicated that an offer for his signature is very much on their agenda.
However Chelsea have suggested that they will not let their man leave in a £25m transfer, but it’s now apparent that they are keen to reach an agreement if Modric is involved.
It is understood that the Londoners are willing to offer Ramires plus £10m for the Croatian playmaker – a star they were linked with during his Tottenham days.
However Real value their man highly, and would like closer to £20m, as well as the South American, to consider letting him move on.
Chelsea are believed to be in talks with former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, but if Modric is available then he is very much the club’s first choice given Jose Mourinho relationship with him – he coached him at the Bernabeu.
Ramires himself is also open to the switch due to the chance to link up with Carlo Ancelotti after being brought to Stamford Bridge by the Italian in 2010.
