Chelsea loanee’s Italian job not done yet

Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel is set to stay at Italian side AC Milan despite reports that the loanee was planning to return to the Premier League club in the new year.

The 21 year-old was a bit-part player with the Blues last season and has found chances to break into the first team similarly limited at the San Siro, playing a total of just 31 minutes in the Serie A so far.

After initial reports that the Dutchman was prepared to bring his spell with the Rossoneri to a premature end, his agent is now claiming that he is in it for the long haul.

“Marco’s job is to continue working to make sure he is ready when called upon. There are no plans in place to return to Chelsea in January.” he said.

Milan currently have another Chelsea loanee in the side in the form of Fernando Torres, and are sitting in 7th place in the Serie A table with 16 points.
