According to a report from Italian publication Calciomercato, Chelsea have made Bundesliga side Leverkusen's Leon Bailey their primary target for the January transfer window.

Chelsea's dramatic 96th-minute equaliser -and Blues assistant coach Marco Ianni's celebration of it - stole both the headlines and a point from visitors Manchester United and Jose Mourinho on Saturday, and surfacing reports on Sunday night of their club's reignited interest in Bailey will have been the icing on the cake for many Chelsea fans.

The 21-year-old, valued at £40.5m by Transfermarkt, has been a long-term target for the London club, with the five-time Premier League winners even trying to sign him when he was at Genk before the winger opted for a move to Bayer 04 instead, according to Sky Sports.

The Jamaican speedster's stellar 17/18 season put him on the map as he scored 12 goals and recorded six assists in all competitions and as a result was then subject to interest from Liverpool and Chelsea - again - in the summer.

With both Willian and Pedro now on the wrong side of thirty and rumours of Eden Hazard's exit aplenty, many Blues fans were delighted to read that their club will be in for Bailey in the new year but others feel that he would be an unnecessary signing.

Here's how they reacted on Twitter.
