Sevilla are in talks with Chelsea over a loan deal for Alvaro Morata, per Goal.

The report claims that the Spain international's agent is in talks with the Liga club as they look to bolster their unlikely title bid.

What's the word?

The report claims that Sevilla are keen on the striker, who has struggled for form under Maurizio Sarri this season, with the Spanish outfit ready to pay his £140,000-per-week wages in full.

Morata previously featured prominently for Real Madrid, scoring 31 times in 95 games, while he also hit 27 goals in 93 games for Juventus.

However, he has looked bereft of confidence at points in 2018/19 and struggled for consistency in west London, scoring just five times in the Premier League this term.

He has completed the 90 minutes just four times this season, and was left out of the squad altogether for clashes with Manchester City, Brighton, Leicester City and Watford.

Eden Hazard has been regularly deployed as a false nine amid Morata's struggles, but Chelsea are reportedly reluctant to sell, unless they can sign a replacement.

Best offer Chelsea will receive

Chelsea are unlikely to receive another such offer from a major club for Morata.

The striker has routinely struggled to hit the back of the net, and appears a terrible fit for the way Sarri wants to play.

With Hazard clearly able to operate on his own up front, Chelsea should bite Sevilla's hand off and shift Morata from their wage bill, even if they are unable to secure a replacement.

It was clear early on that Morata was not well-suited to the Premier League, and the axe finally appears ready to fall.
