On November 20th, Chelsea will find out whether they will be able to sign new players in January.

Despite being found guilty of breaching FIFA regulations 150 times, the Blues are attempting to get their transfer ban overturned so they can add to their squad as early as the start of next year.

Should they be successful, Frank Lampard is said to have a £150m transfer kitty to spend on new recruits, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell mentioned.

Now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (Calciomercato), the Blues are interested in Brazil U17 international Reinier, who currently plays for Flamengo in his homeland. The Blues have plenty of teenage talent at their disposal in the form of Billy Gilmour, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi, for example, but they should look to add the 17-year-old to their ranks as well.

Even though he is just 17, he has already started five games for Flamengo in the Brazilian Serie A. Across those matches, he has scored three goals and provided two assists, which shows he has already made an impact even at such a tender age.

He is already a star for the Selecao at youth level, as well, having captained the U17 side nine times, whilst also scoring five goals and providing an assist to boot.

With a Transfermarkt market value of £13.5m, he is the third most-valuable player aged 17 or under on the planet, which just goes to show how highly rated he is. The Stamford Bridge outfit are not the only team to be interested in the starlet, though. According to The Sun, Real Madrid were pursuing him earlier this year and were even preparing to match his £60.5m release clause.

Reinier would not be the first Brazilian starlet Chelsea have attempted to sign. Back in 2010, they were said to be close to capturing Neymar for a fee between £20m and £25m. In the end, though, he moved to Barcelona, where he scored 105 goals in 186 appearances and won the Champions League.

The Blues cannot afford to miss out on another prodigy. Neymar went on to become a superstar, and the south-west London club's hierarchy would be kicking themselves if they missed out on another.
