Chelsea need 14 days to decide whether to move for England pair

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will evaluate whether or not to move for either Jamie Vardy or Saido Berahino over the next fortnight, according to the Metro.

It is thought that those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge will formulate their transfer plans over the next two weeks, ahead of the transfer market opening for business again in January.

Should the club decide to move for a forward to either aid or replace controversial star Diego Costa, it is thought that both Englishmen are under serious consideration.

However, reports suggest that the Portuguese tactician is yet to be fully convinced that Leicester man Vardy is the real deal, amid suggestions the Foxes could seek as much as £30m to sign him.

Whereas West Brom striker Saido Berahino is thought to be available at £20m, and is six years his compatriot’s junior.

The England Under-21 ace has just 18 months remaining on his deal at the Hawthorns, and has been linked with the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle.

Both players are eligible to register for the Champions League should either arrive during the winter market, which could make them more attractive for the West London outfit.
