Speaking to The Associated Press, former Chelsea star Eden Hazard gave his seal of approval on the Blues’ recent signing Christian Pulisic.

What did he say?

Hazard left Stamford Bridge earlier this summer to join Real Madrid, whilst Pulisic finally joined up with his new Chelsea teammates after a deal to bring him in from Borussia Dortmund was agreed in January.

Now, Chelsea’s former talisman has tipped his potential replacement to achieve greatness. The Belgium international said: “(Pulisic) can be one of the best in the future for sure. He can be (a star). Now he’s at one of the best clubs in the world… he’s a proper player.”

The perfect Hazard replacement?

How do you solve a problem like Hazard? The Belgian was one of Chelsea’s most influential players of the past decade, leading them to various titles and trophies in his time at west London.

Following his departure to Spain, the big question was who could potentially step up to fill his shoes? Despite being just 20-years-old, Pulisic’s experience of playing for Dortmund in both the Bundesliga and Champions League will only help him for the better.

The USA international has the pace, trickery and dribbling skills to become a real Chelsea star in the future as Hazard predicts, but whether he can adjust to the physicality of English football in his first season at Stamford Bridge remains to be seen.

Pre-season hasn’t seen the American pull up any trees just yet, but as he gets used to his new surroundings and new teammates, the sky really is the limit for him.
