The Algerian international was absolutely pivotal to the Foxes unexpectedly claiming last season’s title, finishing up with 17 goals and eleven assists in the Premier League.
Accordingly, the 2016 PFA Player of the Year has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium for much of the summer transfer window.
But Twitter erupted this morning with rumours that Mahrez had arrived at Chelsea’s official hotel – the Chelsea Harbour Hotel – to hold talks with the west London club.
And perhaps not so coincidentally, Sky Bet’s odds on the 25-year-old signing for the Blues are now just 5/4 – in other words, a 44.44% chance of happening. Arsenal’s odds on snapping up Mahrez, meanwhile, have risen to 12/1 – a 7.7% chance of happening.
But the bookies are still backing Mahrez to stay in the East Midlands for next season, with odds of 8/13.
