Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was so impressed with Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani’s match-winning performance against his side in Champions League action on Tuesday that he’s now keen to lure the striker to London this summer, according to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Uruguayan came off the bench to net the vital goal in a 2-1 victory for the Parisians at the Parc des Princes, after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s opener had been cancelled out by a rare John Obi Mikel effort.
And is seems that Abramovich was so impressed with the 29-year-old’s showing that he’s now eager to lure the forward to England this summer.
Reports claim that that the Russian has already decided that Cavani is a viable option for his side heading into a big summer, even though the identity of the club’s next manager is not yet known – Guus Hiddink will leave at the end of the season.
It’s understood that the ex-Napoli and Palermo hit-man is open to the idea of leaving PSG, after spending the past two and a half seasons being shunted around to accommodate Ibrahimovic.
As well as Chelsea, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are keen.
Cavani also featured, and scored, for PSG when they knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League last season.
