Chelsea plot staggering Arsenal record man raid

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is plotting a stunning summer move to set up a reunion with Arsenal’s most expensive player, Mesut Ozil, according to reports from The Metro.

The Portuguese boss coached the Germany international during his spell at Real Madrid, during which time Los Blancos won the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana.

Ozil has since left the Spanish giants, joining Arsenal in a club record £42.5m deal in 2013, and has divided opinion among Gunners fans due to his hot and cold showings.

However, Mourinho has not been deterred by his struggles in England, and is reportedly looking to lure him across London to Stamford Bridge.

Such talk is unlikely to go down well at the Emirates Stadium, with Ozil having been a key player in Arsene Wenger’s first XI in recent weeks.

A swoop may be further complicated by the two sides’ managers’ relationship and their status as direct rivals for the Premier League title next season.
