Chelsea ready to axe recent arrival

Jose Mourinho is ready to let Mohamed Salah leave after just 12 months as a Chelsea player, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.

The Blues swooped to land the Egyptian ace last January, beating Liverpool to his signature with an £11m offer.

Despite having impressed in the Champions League with Basel, Salah has barely made an impact at Stamford Bridge, with established stars such as Eden Hazard and Willian having kept him out of the Londoners’ XI.

Mourinho initially suggested that the winger would come good this season, but he’s yet to be handed a start.

And now reports have revealed that the Portuguese gaffer is ready to offload his man if a suitable offer comes in in January.

Mourinho is understood to be looking to draft in new talent when the transfer window opens, with Marco Reus a target, and is keen to clear space by selling fringe players.

Salah was on the verge of joining Liverpool before Chelsea made a late move to snap him up from Basel.
