Chelsea ready to cash in during January window

David Luiz (Chelsea)Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to David Luiz leave Stamford Bridge in January, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

‘The Special One’ is believed to have grown frustrated with the Brazilian defender after a series of below par displays and casual errors.

The Blues boss opted against allowing Luiz to leave the club over the summer, rejecting multiple offers for his services from Barcelona.

At the time Mourinho wanted to assess his £35m rated star, but he is now thought to have decided that his unique playing style does not suit the demands of his set up in West London.

Barca are still thought to be keen on the 26-year-old, and view him as the perfect long-term replacement for club icon Carles Puyol.

Luiz is somewhat a cult hero at Chelsea, with many fans appreciative of his excellent technical abilities.

But, he often pairs his skills with silly mistakes that have cost the club points on several occasions.

Mourinho is looking to fund a big move for Porto’s Eiaquim Mangala, and is ready to use Luiz to help raise funds.

Would Jose Mourinho be making a mistake if he lets David Leave?
