Chelsea ready to use Luiz cash for striker move

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to use £25m of the £50m PSG are ready to pay for David Luiz to sign Monaco’s Radamel Falcao, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Brazilian centre-back is set to become the most expensive defender on the planet in the coming weeks, with a deal to take him to the Parc des Princes rumoured to be close to completion.

Mourinho is known to be in the market for a striker, and is understood to be ready to mount a £25m offer for Falcao.

Chelsea are thought to be on the be on the verge of securing a £30m swoop for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa, but now the Colombian international could also follow the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge.

Falcao cost Monaco £50m just last year, yet the Londoners are hopeful that his injury status – he missed much of last season – and his reported desire to leave the Stade Louis II will force the Mediterranean side to sell.

Chelsea were interested in the prolific goal-getter before he joined the Ligue 1 heavyweights, but were ultimately unable to compete with their vast riches.
