Chelsea receive £15m green light for Dutch star

Galatasaray midfielder Wesley SneijderChelsea have been told that a bid of £15m will be enough to secure Wesley Sneijder’s signature, according to reports from The Metro.

The Blues have been linked with the Galatasaray playmaker in recent days, with new boss Jose Mourinho keen to link up with the man he managed at Inter Milan.

Sneijder was one of the key players during the ‘Special One’s’ treble winning season at the San Siro, turning in a number of impressive displays.

After the Portuguese coach left Milan, the Dutch international’s career began to stagnate, which culminated in him being frozen out of the club’s first-team at the start of last season after a wage dispute.

This forced through a January move to Galatasaray where he has impressed, especially in the Turkish’s side’s run in the Champions League.

Despite Sneijder having only been in Turkey for a matter of months, Mourinho is said to be considering a shock swoop for the midfielder, and Galatasaray president Unal Aysal says that a bid of £15m or more could be enough to tempt them to sell:

“If there was a bid of £15million or above, we will consider a sale.” He said.

Sneijder is thought to be keen on a move to England, having seen his proposed switch to Manchester United collapse last year.
