Chelsea see star bid accepted

Chelsea are closing in on the signature of Colombian ace Juan Cuadrado, with reports from The Express claiming that Fiorentina have accepted a bid of £23m for the winger.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a swoop for the tricky wide-man over the course of the past few days, yet there were thought to be issues surrounding the fee needed,

La Viola were holding out for his release clause – worth around £26m – to be triggered, while the Londoners were pushing for a move worth closer to £20m.

And it seems that a middle ground has been found, with reports claiming that £23m has been settled upon.

Cuadrado himself is understood to be desperate to test himself in the Premier League, and the Stamford Bridge giants are confident that a deal will go through.

The South American star only signed a new contract with Fiorentina last year after emerging as one of Serie A’s top talents and starring at the World Cup.

The deal may signal the end of Mohamed Salah’s short career in west London, with Roma favourites to snap him up.
