The 30-year-old is widely viewed as one of the top centre-halves in world football, having lifted a Champions League title with Los Blancos and a World Cup with Spain during summer 2014.
The 131-cap international is famed for his speed and ability in possession and those two characteristics appear to be generating interest from the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.
Indeed, Manchester United have been linked with the 6-foot defender consistently since last summer and most recently as March.
But the latest reports from The Metro – citing Corriere Dello Sport – claim Premier League rivals Chelsea are hot on Ramos’ heels as well.
The Italian publication claim Chelsea are in talks with Roma over the potential sale of Branislav Ivanovic, with the Real Madrid star lined up as the Serbian international’s direct replacement.
But the La Liga giants seem unlikely to sell. Ramos’ contract doesn’t expire until summer 2020 and he currently serves as captain at the Bernabeu.
