Cheer up Chelsea fans, it’s not that bad. Or at least, it could be worse.
This time last year Liverpool were taking to the pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu to face Real Madrid, with a team much much worse than what Chelsea have put out tonight.
Brendan Rodgers’ time at Liverpool was perhaps at its darkest point, and he sent out this team:
A whole year since this team let me down in Madrid. We really should've won that game. pic.twitter.com/XzEQwJFugh

Suddenly benching Eden Hazard in favour of playing Fabregas as a number 10 doesn’t seem like such a bad thing!
Ramires starting alongside Matic seems to give Chelsea a solidity and an energy in the middle and allows Fabregas to roam around in behind Diego Costa where he can do the most damage and won’t have to track back too much.
Having said that, maybe things actually are that bad for Chelsea – just last week Liverpool did beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. So what does that say? Have Chelsea become that bad? Or have Liverpool just improved that much? And will Brendan Rodgers be the next Chelsea manager…?
