According to The Sun, Chelsea are currently in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic. However, the German club’s £70 million asking price is currently putting the Blues off from striking a deal.
The 20-year-old is one of the most promising young talents in Europe. However, even in the current market, £70 million is a huge fee to pay.
That being said, Pulisic has been in fine form this season, and recently impressed on English soil whilst representing the USA in an international friendly against the Three Lions at Wembley Stadium.

It’s no surprise that the Pennsylvania-born ace is attracting Premier League interest, and the Blues would be wise to set aside the big price tag and pursue Pulisic’s signature.
Whilst it’ll take a huge fee to prise Pulisic away from Westfalenstadion, he could have an equally massive impact at Stamford Bridge. With the likes of Willian and Pedro both ageing and currently in poor form, Maurizio Sarri will soon need some attacking reinforcements who can help to alleviate the burden currently on Eden Hazard.
Before long, the east London club may even have to identify a replacement for the Belgian superstar himself. Eventually, Pulisic could perhaps take the talismanic Hazard’s place, but in the meantime he would certainly serve as an upgrade on Willian and Pedro.
Even in the current market, which has been vastly inflated in recent years, £70 million would be a small price to pay for the potential heir to Hazard.
