Courtois was tipped to return to Chelsea after last season, but the club elected to allow him to stay with Atletico to gain further first-team experience.
Barca are also keen on Borussia Moenchengladbach’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who is believed to have a verbal agreement in place to discuss a move to the club next year.
