Cesc Fabregas has hailed Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard as “our Messi” after just a few months at the club.
The Spanish playmaker featured alongside Lionel Messi regularly during his time at Barcelona during, arguably, the finest years of the Argentine’s glittering career so far.
The Catalan idol is widely seen as the best player on the planet alongside fellow La Liga heavyweight Cristiano Ronaldo, and has been the fulcrum of one of the most successful sides in modern football for some time.
And Fabregas believes that his new team-mate, Hazard, is very much like Messi:
“Hazard has that incredible ability to unsettle the opposition.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.
“He is the link between midfield and attack for us; he is our Messi because he makes the difference.
“We have a young team but we are very positive about the future.”
Hazard has been a big hit since his 2012 move to Chelsea from Lille, with his close control and ability to beat opponents having earned him much praise.
