Chelsea star labels controversial teammate a ‘cheat’

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has amazingly admitted that controversial teammate Diego Costa is a cheat, as reported by the London Evening Standard.

The Spain international is waiting to hear whether he’ll receive retrospective action from the FA for his behaviour that eventually led to Arsenal’s Gabriel being sent off during the Blues 2-0 victory over their London rivals on Saturday

It all began when Costa appeared to slap Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny in the face, which led to Gabriel getting involved and eventually being dismissed for kicking out at the Blues striker.

And Zouma has admitted that everyone at the club knows Costa likes to cheat, but insists he’s an important and likeable character within the Chelsea dressing room.

He said: “We’re not surprised because we know Diego.

“Everyone knows Diego and this guy likes to cheat a lot and put the opponent out of his game.

“That happened in the game but he’s a really nice guy. We’re proud to have him, like the other players, and we’re happy to win this game.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has labelled Costa as “disgusting” after the events that unfolded at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, but Blues boss Jose Mourinho has publicly praised his player by claiming the striker was “playing the game like the game has to be played.”

It is believed Zouma’s comments could now work against Costa as the FA prepare to come to a decision regarding his behaviour against Arsenal.
