As Chelsea took the pitch for their derby clash with west London rivals Queens Park Rangers this afternoon, there appeared to be a new figure in their midst – or perhaps, more accurately, their midfield.
He was a mysterious and shady fellow, covering his face out of fear of persecution, whilst conducting traffic in the Blues’ engine room.
But who was this masked vigilante? This heroic champion of snazzy playmaking? Was it a bird? Was it a Plane? No, it was Spain international Cesc Fabregas.
Joking aside, the Chelsea star was wearing the mask out of precaution, having broke his nose against Stoke City last weekend – classic Stoke, I’m sure you’ll all agree.
But that hasn’t stopped Twitter having an absolute field day about it. Here’s some of the best responses from social media:
Fabregas, Remove the G String on your face Lol

Remember that time Cesc Fabregas and Catherine Zeta-Jones had a sword fight with Anthony Hopkins? #QPRvCHE
