Chelsea star targeting League and European double

Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah says that the club’s aim is to win both the Premier League and Champions League next season.

The Blues came close on both fronts last term, but they eventually slid away from Liverpool and Manchester City in the battle for domestic honours and slipped out of the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.

Since then Jose Mourinho has spent big to land top name such as Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, which has created a positive buzz around Stamford Bridge heading into his second season back in the dugout.

Salah – who joined Chelsea in January from Basel – says that his team’s aim is to achieve success both at home and abroad in the coming campaign:

“I hope having pre-season with my team-mates will help me next season. We’ve done well so far, the training has been very good, intense and we are improving all the time.” He is quoted by The Express.

“The aim is for us to win the Premier League and Champions League,” he added. “It’s important for a club like Chelsea to challenge for every competition we enter and hopefully we can do that.

“In terms of myself, I don’t usually like to set too many targets but I just want to improve as a player as much as I can and help my team-mates become successful.”
