Chelsea starlet joins Championship side Fulham on one-year loan deal

This morning it was revealed that Chelsea starlet Tomas Kalas, who some fans had been hoping would get an opportunity in the Blues’ first team during pre-season, will be making the move around the corner to London neighbours Fulham.

Chelsea and Fulham both confirmed the news that the young centre-back will be making the short trip across west London on loan for 2016/17.

The deal makes the Cottagers Kalas’ eighth club since he joined Chelsea in 2010.

Many fans will recognise Kalas for his heroics during his Premier League debut in 2014, where he produced a Man of the Match worthy display as his side beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield.

After spending most of the last six years on loan, many fans had expected the youngster to make the step up this season, especially with the Blues seemingly short of central defenders. Yet apparently Conte is not interested in the youngster, and has seen fit to give him one more chance to impress away from Stamford Bridge.

You would expect this deal to be make or break for the talented defender.

What do you think about this one Chelsea fans? Were you hoping to see him get a chance next season? Or are you more interested in a new central defensive signing? Let us know.
