When Nathaniel Chalobah comes into the mind of many football fans one thing is brought up in association – THAT goal vsLeicester while he was on loan at Watford last season.
The 18-year-old defied his age last season with a string of stellar performances in the 2nd tier for a Watford side that was inches away from promotion to the Premier League. As it happens, they are back to fight for that coveted promotion spot again and are already looking like one of the contenders with two impressive wins from two games. It’s a long old season though and reports are linking Chalobah with a 2nd loan spell at Vicarage Road.
Chalobah was one of the few England under-21 players to retain some credit as they made an early exit from European competition this summer in Israel. Mourinho is known to see Chalobah as a long term replacement for Frank Lampard at Chelsea and will be a keen observer as of the youngster’s development.
With this and Chalobah in mind, here is a snippet of what the Sierra Leone-born man is a capable of in training. Great skill and a lovely finish. Let’s hope he can replicate it on the big stage.
