Thibaut Courtois is unsure what the future holds at Chelsea and is hoping to spend another season on loan with Atletico Madrid.
The highly-rated 21-year-old has flourished during a two-year loan spell with Atletico and with Petr Cech still number one at Stamford Bridge, he is reluctant to return to the Blues.
There has been talk of a permanent move to Atletico but after Chelsea missed out on the signing of Jack Butland, who joined Stoke from Birmingham, such a deal looks unlikely.
However the player has targeted another loan move and took to Twitter to thank everyone at the La Liga club.
“Thank you very much to all athletic for this season! Your support in every game has been incredible. I want to stay here one more year to continue sharing joy with you!” he tweeted.
Any decision will be put on hold until Jose Mourinho officially takes over and the Portuguese may be keen to keep hold after seeing first hand how good Courtois is while in charge of Real Madrid.
