Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has denied claims axed boss Jose Mourinho lost the dressing room toward the end of his tenure, report Sky Sports.
Despite leading the Blues back to the summit of English football for the first time in half a decade less than a year ago, the 53-year old was sacked in December amid a shroud of uncertainty.
Such was the nature of their form, there were widespread reports the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ had presided over a dressing room fallout.
However, speaking on Goals on Sunday, Begovic has dismissed such speculation and praised his former boss.
‘The desire was always there,’ roared the Blues custodian, who was brought to Stamford Bridge by Mourinho over the summer.
‘It was difficult but I think the effort and the commitment was always there from the players.’
When quizzed about the matter, the former Stoke shot stopper replied, ‘No, I don’t think so.’
The Blues have had their ship steadied by Guus Hiddink since, though are some way off qualifying for the Champions League and out of the FA Cup.
