Chelsea striker drops summer exit hint

Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has hinted he could move to Spain in the summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Cameroon star only signed a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge, and has hinted about his next club just hours after scoring a hat trick against Manchester United.

Speaking to Spanish Radio, Eto’o said: “I’ll always like Barca, but I personally prefer Mallorca. My son has pressured me to finish my career there, as he is from there. I have signed on at Chelsea for the entire season and will try to enjoy it. Later on, I will go to Mallorca.”

Eto’o spent 4 years at Mallorca where he scored 48 goals, leading to a €24million transfer to Barcelona. He won La Liga three times and the Champions League twice, before joining Inter Milan, where he lifted the European trophy again.

Chelsea signed Eto’o from Anzhi last summer, where he reportedly took a €12million-a-year deal pay cut to play at Stamford Bridge. But with Mourinho only offering a one-year deal, the forward could be departing England this summer with Spain his likely destination.

Eto’o doubled his Premier League goals tally from 3 to 6 on the weekend after his hat trick against United. The 32-year-old has also scored two Champions League goals, both in the Blues’ 3-0 home win over Schalke.
