The 28-year-old, who recently agreed to join Real Madrid for a fee worth £88million, made 352 appearances for the Blues, contributing a brilliant 110 goals and 92 appearances since joining in 2012.

And the Belgian international signed off his time in London with two goals in his final game to win the Europa League and leave a lasting legacy on those who witnessed him grace the turf at Stamford Bridge.

When speaking about Hazard’s final message to the players, Emerson revealed that he had told them: 'Thank you, I love you guys', before removing himself from the group chat.

It was a fitting last note in what was a glittering career which saw him pick up two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and two Europa League winners' medals.

He also won the PFA Player of the Year award in the 2014/15 season and has to be regarded as one of the best players to play in the competition in recent years.

He is a player Chelsea fans will never forget and they showed that with an emotive response to his final message.
