When a manager reveals that their captain will be in the team for a key match, it is usually great news for the supporters.

However, that was not the case when Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirmed his team news ahead of Sunday's key Premier League match against Manchester United.

Gary Cahill was made captain of Chelsea following John Terry's departure in the summer, and there was not much of an argument after his excellent form last season.

It would be fair to say that Cahill has struggled to replicate those performances in the early stages of the 2017-18 campaign, however, and the England international was actually dropped to the bench for last weekend's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

It had been thought that Cahill would sit out the United match, but Conte, who is under pressure following Wednesday's defeat at Roma, revealed during his pre-match press conference that the experienced centre-back would be in the team.

The Chelsea fans are not overly pleased with the news, however, as they believe that Cahill's lack of pace will hand United a major advantage at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
