Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has cooled talk of a move to Chelsea by insisting that he is perfectly happy at the Bernabeu.
The Blues have been strongly linked with the French international of late, with rumours suggesting his time with the La Liga giants could be coming to a close.
Real are believed to be chasing Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, but may only be able to fund a deal if a big name players is sold for a considerable fee.
New boss Carlo Ancelotti is thought to be unconvinced by Benzema – who has been booed by sections of the club’s supporters after some below par performances – leading to rumours that he could be sacrificed.
However, the 25-year-old is adamant that he will not be moving in January.
“There is no problem for me, so I just have to keep working,” he told talkSPORT.
“I am calm – the most important thing is to play. I need to defend more – I get the public message.
“I will continue to give my all.”
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho worked with Benzema during his time with the Spanish giants and is believed to be a fan of the forward’s abilities.
‘The Special One’ is thought to be on the hunt for a world-class centre-forward after missing out on a number of targets over the summer.
Could Karim Benzema be the final piece of Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea jigsaw?
